In 2018, health and care systems took a further stride forward, with many taking on new collective responsibilities for managing resources and improving the health in their area.
In 2017, a national campaign was launched to support local systems integrate health and care. Thousands of people have watched our animation explaining how and why we are joining up care. Watch and share the animation here.
As medicine advances, health needs change and society develops, the NHS has to continually move forward so that in 10 years time we have a service fit for the future. The NHS Long Term Plan is drawn up by frontline staff, patients groups, and national experts.

There are many benefits of involving people and communities in health and care decisions.
New Involvement Guidance from NHS England outlines relevant legal duties, actions for commissioners, good practice examples and links to other supporting resources. The new guidance replaces ‘Transforming Participation in Health and Care’, which was published in 2013.
We work to an Engagement Framework, which sets out the Partnership’s approach, how we work and our mechanisms to involvement providing assurance that we are putting the people of West Yorkshire and Harrogate at the heart of everything we do.
