Don't be the one

Posted on: 3 May 2019

We're funding a major new campaign, "Don't be the one," to reduce smoking-related illness and deaths in the region. A series of "Don't be the one" TV and online adverts will be supported by a website, http://www.dontbethe1.tv, which includes resources and information on how to quit smoking.

You can also view some powerful real stories from smokers and their families, like this one featuring Michael Brady. Michael suffered with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) for 12 years but even with his breathing difficulties, he continued to smoke to the point that he was at ‘death’s door’ in hospital and told that one more cigarette could kill him. Don’t Be The 1 reminds smokers that it’s never too late to quit, and encourages them take the first step towards being a non-smoker, for their own sake and for their families.
