In West Yorkshire and Harrogate, we can be proud of how our health and care systems have made major improvements to services across our area over the past decade. Our health care services are treating more people than ever before, providing services faster, safely and in better environments.

We are seeing health services delivering world leading new treatments at the forefront of technology. We have a number of pilot areas that are joining up health and social care, and seven new schemes like the West Yorkshire Urgent and Emergency Care Network and Connecting Care in Wakefield that are developing new ways of working that better meet people's needs in care homes, hospitals and communities.

We currently face the most significant challenges in health and social care for a generation. We know that we must keep innovating and improving if we are to meet the needs of our local population in a tough financial climate. Demand for services is growing faster than resources.

From our discussions with local people, we know that people want things to be better, more joined up, and suiting their needs. We want to achieve this in West Yorkshire and Harrogate and we want everyone to have the best possible outcomes for their health and wellbeing.
